Endodontic Treatment / Root Canal Treatment
In the centre of each tooth you will find dental pulp, which contains a nerve that stretches from the tooth’s root in order to spread vital nutrients to the entire tooth. If you should damage, injure, or infect the tooth’s pulp then the nerve in the pulp will die. The only way to treat this is to perform an endodontic procedure (root canal), otherwise the tooth may also die. In a lot of situations, root canal therapy (removing the nerve tissue in the tooth) can salvage the damaged teeth by protecting the tooth in the mouth. Once the root canal is successfully performed, repairing the tooth with a crown is greatly advised in order to preserve the tooth structure and make it powerful for chewing.
